S\u00e3o Paulo \u2013 Representatives of Arab companies that took part in business meetings in S\u00e3o Paulo this week visited food processing plants in Paran\u00e1 state on Thursday (27) and Friday (28) as part of a program organized by the International Business Center of Paran\u00e1 industry group Fiep<\/a> and the Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce<\/strong> (ABCC<\/a>). Their presence in Brazil is part of the Halal do Brasil project, which promotes Brazilian halal food and beverages abroad. Halal products are those fit for Muslim consumption.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The trip gave them an opportunity to learn about the expertise and production processes of Brazilian processed food companies. One of the goals of the Halal do Brasil Project is to promote the export of higher value-added Brazilian food and beverages.<\/p>\n\n\n

According to ABCC New Business Executive Karina Azevedo, who accompanied the buyers, potential importers are interested in products that \u201cshow Brazilian identity,\u201d are typical of the country, and were pleased with the visits and contacts made during the trip.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt was a very promising trade mission. They paid close attention, asked questions and exchanged contact information with people. I can say they showed interest both during the trip and in the project itself. They demonstrated a great deal of interest,\u201d Azevedo said. In S\u00e3o Paulo, on Monday (24) and Wednesday (26), the importers also took part in business meetings with potential suppliers at an event organized by the ABCC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During their visit to Paran\u00e1, representatives of Al Zaeem of Bahrain, Rezfood and Khayrat Al Reef of the United Arab Emirates, SKM Tejaree of Jordan, and LabelVie of Morocco visited factories in cities including S\u00e3o Jos\u00e9 dos Pinhais, Campo Largo, Colombo and Campina Grande do Sul, as well as state capital Curitiba. They were hosted by Jasmine, AllBrands, Romanha, Zanlorenzi Bebidas, Pinate and Erva Mate Paran\u00e1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the visits, the companies offered samples of their products. One of them, Erva Mate Paran\u00e1, also offered a tour of its plantation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
