{"id":416837,"date":"2026-09-08T12:29:00","date_gmt":"2026-09-08T15:29:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/anba.com.br\/?p=416837"},"modified":"2026-09-08T12:29:07","modified_gmt":"2026-09-08T15:29:07","slug":"siatt-and-safran-to-cooperate-on-defense-systems","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/anba.com.br\/en\/siatt-and-safran-to-cooperate-on-defense-systems\/","title":{"rendered":"SIATT and Safran to cooperate on defense systems"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>S\u00e3o Paulo \u2013 Brazilian arms manufacturer SIATT and French company Safran Electronics &amp; Defense announced on Tuesday (8) that they had signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to cooperate on the development of missile systems, precision-strike munitions and coastal defense systems, among other projects. SIATT is controlled by <a href=\"https:\/\/edgegroup.ae\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">EDGE<\/a>, a group based in the United Arab Emirates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to information released by EDGE, the cooperation will also include the development and production of solid-fuel rocket motors at SIATT\u2019s facilities in Brazil. Other areas covered by the partnership include inertial measurement and navigation systems, which calculate a vehicle\u2019s position without relying on a satellite network; GNSS receivers (navigation systems); actuators (devices that convert energy into physical motion); electro-optical sights (which project a luminous aiming point within the shooter\u2019s field of view); and sensors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>EDGE Group Managing Director and CEO Hamad Al Marar said the agreement expands the company\u2019s partnerships in Brazil. Alexander Ziegler, head of Safran Electronics &amp; Defense\u2019s Defense business unit, said the agreement brings together complementary capabilities from the two companies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>EDGE Group has been investing in Brazil and, in recent weeks, has announced other agreements with local institutions. On September 3, EDGE completed the acquisition of Akaer, a company that develops systems for sectors including aviation, such as unmanned and electrical systems. In August, EDGE signed a partnership with the Brazilian Navy for maritime monitoring, surveillance and reconnaissance projects.
