S\u00e3o Paulo \u2014 The Federation of Muslim Associations of Brazil (FAMBRAS), the World Muslim Communities Council and the International Halal Academy will hold the second seminar \u201cIslamic Identity in Latin America\u201d on Sept. 29, Oct. 6 and Oct. 13, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. The event aims to foster dialogue, deepen understanding of Islamic values and present experiences of peaceful coexistence between Muslim and non-Muslim communities in the Americas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The seminar is divided into three panels. On Tuesday (29), the panel \u201cMuslim Societies and the Foundations of Good Citizenship: A Fundamental Reading of Concepts and Values\u201d will be presented. On Oct. 6, the topic will be \u201cMuslims in Latin America and the Jurisprudence of Coexistence: Shared Humanity and Interfaith and Intercultural Dialogue.\u201d The seminar\u2019s final panel, on Oct. 13, will address \u201cFrom the Jurisprudence of Communities to the Jurisprudence of Muslim Societies: Foundations and Starting Points for Establishing a Qualitative Jurisprudence for Latin America.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Participants in the event include former Brazilian President Michel Temer, World Muslim Communities Council President Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi and Fambras President Ali Zoghbi. The main topics of each panel will also cover issues such as citizenship, cooperation, interfaith dialogue and community service, among others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The International Halal Academy is the first private institute in Latin America dedicated to training, qualifying and preparing professionals to work in the Halal sector. The World Muslim Communities Council, meanwhile, is based in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, and aims to support and strengthen Muslim communities living outside the Islamic world. FAMBRAS operates in the religious, social, cultural, economic and diplomatic spheres through educational, cultural and social assistance projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
