S\u00e3o Paulo \u2013 Emirates SkyCargo expanded its operations in S\u00e3o Paulo this year, increasing the volume of exports it carries as a result. In a statement released Thursday (8), the Dubai-based air cargo carrier said it had expanded its operations across South America during the year, including in S\u00e3o Paulo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Two flights were added at Guarulhos Airport, bringing the total to four weekly frequencies. Overall, exports in the 2026\/27 period are up 22% from 2025\/26.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the company, most products transported from South America are perishables. Some 80,000 tonnes of such products have been transported since April 2024, including 66,000 tonnes of fresh flowers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cSouth America is a dynamic emerging hub for exports across a range of sectors including high-quality food products and fresh flowers that rely on fast and reliable air cargo connectivity to reach global customers. Since April this year, we have transported more than 22,000 tonnes of export cargo from our South American markets, a growth of 18% over the volumes carried during the same period in the previous year,\u201d Emirates SkyCargo Divisional Senior Vice President Badr Abbas said in the statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the company, the increase in frequencies across South America is part of a fleet and network expansion plan. Three weekly frequencies were added to Buenos Aires, Argentina, this year, along with one flight to Bogot\u00e1, Colombia, and one to Quito, Ecuador.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
