S\u00e3o Paulo \u2013 The Brazilian Export and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex, in the Portuguese acronym) is offering studies on the Saudi and Emirati markets in its website. <\/p>\n
The documents were produced by the agency\u2019s Commercial and Competitive Intelligence Unit, and include profiles and business opportunities in each of these countries. The reports contain detailed information on economic and commercial scenarios, the main import requirements Brazil may cater to, regional agreements, tariff and non-tariff barriers and other important aspects of commercial relations between Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Brazil.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe best opportunities for Brazilian exports in the Saudi market are in the \u2018Food, Beverage and Agribusiness\u2019 front, because both the Brazilian competitiveness and the Saudi demand are higher. There are also important niches in the Saudi market in which Brazilian \u2018Fashion\u2019 products may be highly successful. There is, however, strong competition in the \u2018Housing and Construction\u2019 and \u2018Machinery and Equipment\u2019 segments,\u201d claims one report.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn 2011, Brazilian exports to the United Arab Emirates reached US$ 2.2 billion, up 16.9% compared with the preceding year, and imports reached nearly US$ 500 million, resulting in a US$ 1.7 billion surplus,\u201d according to another report.<\/p>\n
In addition to these new studies, Apex also maintains 2010 reports on Egypt and Lebanon on its site, as well as reports on other countries, some current and others older.
