S\u00e3o Paulo \u2013 The Moroccan storyteller Hamed Bouzzine is one of the attractions of the 2012 Sesc Arts show, which will feature dozens of Brazilian and foreign artists from July 19th to 29th in S\u00e3o Paulo. Bouzzine will give two presentations, on July 28th and 29th.<\/p>\n
It will be two different shows. On the 28th at Sesc Pompeia, Bouzzine will present From Tangiers to Timbuktu<\/i>, in which he will tell about the mythic trip of a Saharan storyteller as he reminisces about local sceneries and the stories of men, women and children, interwoven with their habits and the culture of the Berbers, a native North African people.<\/p>\n
On the 29th at Sesc Belenzinho, the show Travels Through Life <\/i>will focus on the myths of the Mandinka Empire, formed around the 13th century in Mali, Western Africa. Bouzzine will give accounts which he heard from Alpha Kouyat\u00e9, a master of Mandinka oral stories with whom the Moroccan shared the stage for seven years. Both shows will combine storytelling and music. The stories will be told in French, but translators will be available.<\/p>\n
The Sesc Arts Show will feature 70 Brazilian and international contemporary art attractions, covering visual arts, media art, cinema, dance, literature, music, and theater. International artists from Austria, Morocco, France, England, Mexico, Germany, Italy, Burkina Faso, United States, Ghana, Belgium, South Africa, Canada, Bolivia, Spain, Poland, Netherlands, and Australia will be featured.<\/p>\n
The attractions will be on show at all units of the Social Service for Trade (Sesc, in the Portuguese acronym) in S\u00e3o Paulo. Some of the program is free of charge, and the tickets for others will sell at popular prices. <\/p>\n
