Bras\u00edlia \u2013 President Dilma Rousseff started today (25) an intense agenda of activities in London, the capital of the United Kingdom, where she will remain until Saturday (28). Rousseff launched the campaign for international promotion of Brazil, pointing out the diversification of tourist products, technology, culture and Brazilian hospitality to attract the attention of foreigners. The idea is to stimulate curiosity and interest focussing on the 2014 World Cup and the 2016 Olympics.<\/p>\n
For Tourism minister Gast\u00e3o Vieira, the effort is turned to placing Brazil among the three main tourism powers in the world by 2022. Starting on the 28th, for example, there will be an exhibition showing a holograph of Brazilian football player Neymar, who challenges visitors to a \u201ckeepie uppie\u201d competition, in a virtual experience.<\/p>\n
In the exhibition, there are videos and information about each of the 12 cities hosting the 2014 World Cup. It will also be possible to learn about Brazil using a pair of binoculars, through which visitors may see images of Rio de Janeiro.<\/p>\n
President Rousseff will today meet with British prime minister David Cameron, at around 4:30 pm (12:30 pm in Bras\u00edlia). They are expected to talk about the impacts of the international economic crisis on Europe and mainly on the countries of the euro zone \u2013 Spain, Greece and Portugal, among others.<\/p>\n
The effects of the crisis on several countries caused the governments to adopt plans for the control of spending that caused public protest and manifestation against the measures. To the protesters, the plans result in greater taxes, cuts in public services and unemployment. Figures show that unemployment has risen in Europe.<\/p>\n
