The five countries have a combined 2.5 million hectares on lease to foreign investors for farming. In Sudan, 1.5 million hectares of farming land are leased, usually for a 99-year period, to the United Arab Emirates, Egypt and South Korea. <\/p>\n<p> Sudan is located in North Africa and produces a host of agricultural products, such as sugarcane for ethanol and sugar manufacturing, cotton, nuts, wheat, sorghum and maize, among others.
