S\u00e3o Paulo \u2013 Bralyx, a S\u00e3o Paulo-based food industry machinery manufacturing company, is looking for partners in order to expand its business in the Arab world. The company already exports equipment to Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Kuwait. The machines make sweets and snacks and some are adapted to the region\u2019s cuisine, including one for making mahmoul, a semolina-based candy stuffed with dates and nuts. <\/p>\n
\u201cBralyx offers full lines for making snacks, sweets and fresh pastas. In the Arab countries, we invest in adapting the equipment to local food recipes, such as kibbeh and mahmoul,\u201d says the company\u2019s Gilberto Poleto. \u201cBralyx works to find local representatives who are structured enough to provide technical assistance services, pre- and post-sales. We are looking for trustworthy partners. We are also establishing a company in Europe to provide assistance there,\u201d he says.<\/p>\n
The company has been exporting to the Arab countries since 2010. In the region, it serves clients such as restaurants, bakeries and sweet and candy factories. Beatriz Poleto, the Foreign Trade director, explains that the top-selling line in the Middle East is Maxiform, comprising nine different machine models capable of making from 1,800 to 19,000 snacks or sweets per hour each. The machines are made of stainless steel and prices range from US$ 10,000 to US$ 60,000.<\/p>\n
Currently, Bralyx sells to 35 countries. \u201cRight now, the top buyers are Turkey, Italy, Portugal and England,\u201d says Beatriz. Exports account for only 8% of the company\u2019s revenues, but the goal is for the share to increase to 30% or 40%. According to Gilberto, there are good perspectives of growth in sales to Arab countries.<\/p>\n
\u201cBralyx equipment is completely in tune with the food culture of Arab countries, therefore we are aware of the region\u2019s huge potential for us, export-wise. However, the first step for us to boost sales to the market is to count on efficient, trustworthy partners to support our sales with quality services,\u201d says the company president. <\/p>\n
The company participates in international events such as Gulfood, the leading food industry fair in the Middle East, held annually in Dubai, Europain, in France, and IBA, in Germany. According to Beatriz, the company has also attended a fair in Kuwait, and is looking for a new event to mark its presence in Dubai.<\/p>\n
Founded in 1993, Bralyx is based in the city of S\u00e3o Paulo. The company posts annual revenues of approximately 40 million reals (US$ 19.6 million) and has 100 employees.<\/p>\n
