Rio de Janeiro \u2013 Industrial employment was up 0.2% in July this year from June, but the total wages paid were down 1%. The data was culled from the Monthly Industrial Employment and Wage Survey issued this Wednesday (12th) by the Brazilian Institute for Geography and Statistics (IBGE, in the Portuguese acronym). The combined loss in terms of jobs in the preceding months was 1.2%. Compared with the same month of 2011, the index was down 1.6%.
