The number of registered investors reached 313,919 last month, up 21.2% from August 2011.<\/p>\n<p> Treasury Direct sales are online bond sales. Sales amounting to R$ 5,000 or less accounted for 58.8% of total sales in August, indicating interest from small investors. The average value per operation in August was R$ 17,334. <\/p>\n<p> The most sought-after bonds were IPCA-linked ones (NTN-B and NTN-B Principal), which accounted for 74.4% of sales.
