S\u00e3o Paulo \u2013 The Arab are the main markets for chicken exports by cooperative Languiru, from Rio Grande do Sul. Of the 4,000 tonnes produced a month, 50% should go to the foreign market, with 70% of the chicken exported going to the Middle East and North Africa. <\/p>\n
The United Arab Emirates, Iraq, Kuwait, Jordan, Qatar, Oman, Yemen and Libya are in the list of countries supplied by Languiru. \u201cThe company sells whole chickens, aka grillers, and also cuts like drumsticks, wings and giblets, including liver and gizzard, and also sausages,\u201d said Diego Rosa dos Santos, the trader at company Four, who is responsible for the company\u2019s exports.<\/p>\n
Languiru has been exporting to the Arabs since 2001 and aims to increase production to win new clients in the region. \u201cWe hope to prospect new clients. Today, we have a volume limitation (in production). With a greater volume, we may seek more markets in the Middle East,\u201d explained Santos.<\/p>\n
Apart from the Arab countries, Languiru exports to Hong Kong, Vietnam, Venezuela, countries in Africa and the Caribbean. According to Santos, the cooperative regularly participates in international fairs. It participates in Sial Paris, in France, in Anuga, in Germany, going to each one every other year, at one each year. At Gulfood, in Dubai, presence has been every year since 2004, at its own stand.<\/p>\n
The cooperative also produces dairy, like milk, dairy drinks, cheese, milk sweet and milk cream. The poultry slaughterhouse is in the city of Westf\u00e1lia, in Rio Grande do Sul. Established in 1956, Languiru has 4,600 associate members and annual revenues are around R$ 556 million.<\/p>\n
