The items were presented last week, during the São Paulo Fashion Week, and the choice of theme is related to the more commercial tone of his creations. According to the designer, Nefertiti also found it easy to “reinvent” herself.

The result of this “Cirnansck & Nefertiti” mix was fluttery dresses with lots of stones. The designer used satin, lace and tule in draped and embroidered items. Lace and tule were superimposed onto gaps and daringly low necklines. The prevailing colours were gold and black, but he also showed items in grey, cobalt blue, swimming pool blue, and beige. A total of 15 looks were shown.

Nefertiti reigned during the 18th dynasty of Ancient Egypt alongside her husband, Pharaoh Akhenaton. During the period, she was regarded as Egypt’s most influential woman, and until this day she is remembered for her charisma and beauty. Nefertiti and Akhenaton introduced monotheism in the Arab country, with the worshipping of the Sun God instead of several gods, as the locals did. The queen’s origin and demise, however, were never made clear by history.

The dresses designed by Cirnansck gave the models an air of power and majesty, with shoulder pads linked to necklaces integrated with the dresses. The items are mostly adjusted at torso height and loose around the lower body. The designer also created shorter, knee-length dresses, but long dresses and femininity prevailed. Back-tied dresses are reminiscent of corsets.

Samuel

Samuel Cirnansck began developing his unique items in 1999 under his namesake brand. He also worked as a costume designer for event producer Carlos Pazetto, as well as for operas and theatre plays. His items are marked by embroidery and by their delicacy. He uses moulage (a technique by which the clothes are designed directly on the mannequin) and are all hand-sewn, according to his website.

*Translated by Gabriel Pomerancblum

The Egyptian queen inspired designer Samuel Cirnansck to create dresses for the winter of next year.
