S\u00e3o Paulo \u2013 Agencies and travel operators from Brasil hope for greater tourist movement in the 2012\/2013 summer season. According to a study promoted by the Institute for Research, Studies and Tourist Training (Ipeturis), 50.5% of agencies expect 26.8% greater package purchases than in the previous year.<\/p>\n
Travel agencies were interviewed by the institute in 24 states in Brazil and in the Federal District. They expect stability in the search for international destinations, which should be the preference for 47.3% of tourists, and for sites within Brazil, which should attract the remaining 52.7%. Abroad, the most sought countries are the United States, Argentina, Portugal, France and Mexico. In Brazil, the main demand is for the states of Bahia, Cear\u00e1 and Rio de Janeiro.<\/p>\n
According to information disclosed by Ipeturis, the reason for the expected growth in tourism is the greater spending of Brazilians with travels. Agencies and operators also show their actions to foster the purchase of packages, as do the greater buying power of the Brazilian population and the country\u2019s economic stability. <\/p>\n
"The sector\u2019s optimism is stimulated by the greater credit and income, and by the lower interest rates and greater financing plans,\u201d said the president of the S\u00e3o Paulo State Travel Agency Union \u2013 Sindetur-SP, Eduardo Nascimento, according to a press statement disclosed by Ipeturis.<\/p>\n
The research interviewed 302 companies from all regions of Brazil. Travel Agencies operating at points of sale make up 74.5% of the sample and the remaining organisations are operators who operate in production of organized trips and receptive services. The funds were collected from November 21st to December 10th, 2012. Ipeturis belongs to the Sindetur-SP.<\/p>\n
