S\u00e3o Paulo \u2013 Etihad Airways, the airline of Abu Dhabi, in the United Arab Emirates, broke its own passenger record for a single day, when it carried 33,802 people last Saturday (05). This information was disclosed by the company on Monday (7).<\/p>\n
This number of passengers exceeded the previous record, of 33.766 clients transported on July 14th, 2012. \u201cIt has been a busy start to 2013 for Etihad Airways and it is highly satisfying to beat our previous record for passengers carried in a single day,\u201d said James Hogan, CEO at Etihad, in a press statement disclosed by the company.<\/p>\n
The press statement also informs that the load factor of company aircraft was close to its peak on January 5th, at 89.2% of seats occupied.<\/p>\n
On January 3rd and 4th, Etihad Airways had already had good passenger movement, with 32,622 and 32,918 passengers a day, respectively.<\/p>\n
In 2012, Etihad transported a total 10.29 million passengers, 1.88 million more than in 2011. The airline flies to 86 passenger and cargo destinations in the Middle East, Africa, Europe, Asia, Australia and North America. <\/p>\n
The airline plans to start flying to S\u00e3o Paulo in June this year. The flight should be the first of the Arab company to a destination in South America.<\/p>\n
