The project has a budget of R$ 3.475 million (US$ 1.73 million) for carrying out actions in 2013 and 2014, according to a press release from the organizations. <\/p>\n<p> The partnership, dubbed Brazilian Publishers, has been in effect since 2008 and congregates 53 publishing houses, which release children\u2019s books, scientific books, technical and professional books, religious books, and general works.<\/p>\n<p> According to the press release, the project aims to provide an incentive to sales of copyrights and books. Promotional actions include the participation of publishing houses in international fairs, invitations for buyers and opinion makers to visit Brazil, training to industry businessmen, conduction of studies, and market prospecting.<\/p>\n<p> In the next two years, the agreement will focus its efforts on Germany, Chile, Colombia, South Korea, United States, France and Mexico. <\/p>\n<p> Also according to the press release, the participating companies export US$ 1.65 million worth of books in 2010, US$ 1.85 million in 2011 and US$ 2.4 million last year. Copyrights sales amounted to US$ 495,000 in 2010, US$ 880,000 in 2011 and US$ 1.2 million in 2012.
