In a press statement, the company explained that the growth in gross volume of containers transport is due to the good performance in operations in the Americas, Asia-Pacific and the Middle East. In the United Arab Emirates, DP World transported 13.3 million containers in 2012.<\/p>\n<p> The executive director at the group, Mohammed Sharaf, stated that DP World started 2012 at a strong rhythm of growth, but that it faced \u201cchallenges\u201d in the second half.
