S\u00e3o Paulo \u2013 Next Wednesday (6), the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce<\/b> is going to promote talk Economic sceneries for the Arab countries in 2013<\/i>, with CEO Michel Alaby. Business perspectives with the nations of the Middle East and North Africa, the actions for trade promotion in the region and forecasts for growth of exports to the Arab worlds will be among the themes covered in the event, which is exclusive for companies associated with the institution.<\/p>\n
"We are going to discuss economic matters, GDP growth, growth in consumption and exports, how the Arabs are in terms of foreign accounts and what the actions for this year are,\u201d explained Alaby, pointing out the organisation\u2019s participation in fairs like Gulfood (Emirates-food), Big 5 (Emirates-building), Erbil International Fair (Iraq-multisectorial) and Djazagro (Algeria-agribusiness).<\/p>\n
According to Alaby, the business opportunities for Brazilians should remain in sectors like food and construction, but should also be expanded in other sectors. \u201cA sector that is growing much is the cosmetics and beauty product sector. There is also great concern with foods that privilege health, like organics and halal,\u201d he pointed out. <\/p>\n
Halal certification, showing that the product was developed according to Islamic law, is only compulsory for exports of beef and chicken. However, other foods that have halal seals have competitive advantages in Muslim markets. According to the Arab Brazilian Chamber CEO, this year sales of food products from Brazil to the Arab world should grow 5% to 6% in volume.<\/p>\n
After the talk, Alaby will be available for a Q&A session with those present. He pointed out that the event is being promoted to bring the organisation closer to its associates. \u201cWe are going to offer exclusive information. We are working on strategies to further develop business of associates in the Arab world. This is the first of a series of events we are going to promote this year,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
