The information was disclosed by the Brazilian Furniture, a project to foster company insertion in the foreign market that is developed by the Brazilian Export and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex), the Federal District Furniture Industry Union (Sindimam) and the Brazilian Furniture Industry Association (Abimóvel).

The Brazilian Furniture project is focussed on the United States, Peru, Angola, Mexico, Chile, Colombia, Russia, South Africa and the United Arab Emirates. The sales of companies that are members of the initiative in these markets rose 7.5% from 2010 to last year, according to the organizers.

To some specific markets, project exports grew well above Brazil’s international sales as a whole. This was the case with Mexico. While exports as a whole from the country to the region grew 14%, those related to Brazilian Furniture grew 43% in the same period.

"This result shows the efficiency of the model we have adopted for greater visibility to the Brazilian furniture industry in the main international markets, based on the preparation of companies and participation in sectorial events abroad,” explained Adriana Katekawa, who is responsible for the Commercial Intelligence Area of the project.

*Translated by Mark Ament

Foreign sales of the Brazilian furniture industry grew by US$ 208 million from 2011 to 2012, according to figures disclosed by the Brazilian Furniture project.

[91

0":"post-43992","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","6":"category-economy
Foreign sales of the Brazilian furniture industry grew by US$ 208 million from 2011 to 2012, according to figures disclosed by the Brazilian Furniture project.
["GET
