The objective is to analyse how the form and function of art and of architecture in the Islamic world, from its birth, in the seventh century, to the late 16th century. Aspects covered will include the social, cultural and historic.<\/p>\n<p>The course programme, which is free, was developed by the Department of Oriental Letters and the Culture and Extension Service of the College of Philosophy, Letters and Human Science at USP. Andrea Piccini and Lygia Ferreira Rocco will give the classes, under the coordination of Arlene Elizabeth Clemesha.
