Production was up only in the states of Santa Catarina (0.4%), Rio Grande do Sul (2.1%) and Goi&aacute;s (5%).<\/p>\n<p>On Tuesday (2th), the IBGE had already reported that nationwide industrial output was down 2.5% in February from January. The state-specific data released today, however, shows that the sharpest decline in production was seen in Minas Gerais (-11.1%). The state had its worst rate since December 2008 (-16.4%). Industry production in the state dropped by 9.8% December-on-December. <\/p>\n<p>Output was also down in the following states: Bahia (-3.7%), Cear&aacute; (-3.2%), Pernambuco (-3.2%), Par&aacute; (-2.5%), Paran&aacute; (-2.2%), the Northeast Region (-2.0%), Esp&iacute;rito Santo (-1.8%), Rio de Janeiro (-1.5%), Amazonas (-1.2%) and S&atilde;o Paulo (-0.5%).<\/p>\n<p>December-on-November, production decreased in ten out of 14 sites surveyed, and the highest rates of decline were recorded in Esp&iacute;rito Santo (-13.4%), Minas Gerais (-9.8%) and Par&aacute; (-7.2%). Pernambuco (-6.0%), Paran&aacute; (-5.5%), the Northeast Region (-4.1%), Santa Catarina (-3.3%), Amazonas (-3.2%), Bahia (-2.2%) and S&atilde;o Paulo (-0,8%) round off the list.
