The contract includes a purchase option for another 40 units of the same model. In case the option is exercised, the negotiation may amount to US$ 2.9 billion, based on the aircrafts&rsquo; list price.<\/p>\n<p>According to a press release from Embraer, United will assign the aircraft to regional flights of the United Express fleet. The E175 has a flight range of 3,706 kilometres. Each aircraft will have capacity for 76 passengers, and the first delivery is due in quarter one, 2014. <\/p>\n<p>Embraer Commercial Aviation president Paulo Cesar Silva has said the sale to United &ldquo;validates Embraer&rsquo;s strategy&rdquo; of investing in the E-Jet family, and strengthens the long-standing partnership between the Brazilian company and its American client.
