He was appointed by the UN secretary general, Ban Ki-moon, for a four-year term starting on September 1st. <\/p>\n<p>According to the Unctad, Kituyi is a former Member of Parliament and minister of Commerce in Kenya. He will replace Thailand&rsquo;s Supachai Panitchpakdi, who was in charge of the Unctad for two consecutive terms since September 2005, and will leave post on August 31st.
