S\u00e3o Paulo \u2013 Brazilian beef exports generated US$ 1.9 billion in revenues from January to April this year, up 19.5% from January to April 2012\u2019s US$ 1.6 billion. The figures were released this Thursday (23rd) by the Brazilian Beef Exporting Industries Association (Abiec).<\/p>\n
The leading buyer of Brazilian beef during the period was Hong Kong, at US$ 437.8 million. Russia ranked second at US$ 408.2 million and the European Union ranked third at US$ 261.7 million. Among Arab countries, Egypt ranks among the top ten importing countries, in the sixth position at US$ 95.8 million in imports; the United Arab Emirates rank tenth at US$ 24.7 million.
