The information is part of the Annual Service Research (PAS) 2011, disclosed on Wednesday (28) by the Brazilian Institute for Geography and Statistics (IBGE).<\/p>\n<p>In 2011, the service sector had approximately 1.1 million companies. Together, they generated around R$ 1 trillion (US$ 420 billion) in net operating revenues and employed 11.4 million people. The spending was R$ 202.7 billion (US$ 85 billion) in salaries, disbursements and other remuneration.<\/p>\n<p>The sector that reached the greatest growth in productivity was maintenance and recovery service (8.3% a year), followed by real-estate operations (7.9%).
