At the conference, scholars will review the country’s efforts in intermediating dialogue in the region. In 2005, the emergence of the Summit of South American-Arab Countries (Aspa), created by the then-Brazilian president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, has helped bring governments and businessmen from the two regions closer together. The Summit’s second edition took place in Qatar in 2009 and the third edition was held in Peru, last year, featuring the Brazilian president Dilma Rousseff.

Service :
Lecture “Brazilian attempts at mediation in the Middle East”
November 1, Friday at 4:00 pm
At the EESP-FGV, on Itapeva Street, 474 – 6th floor – Auditorium – São Paulo – SP
Information and registration: cpdoc.sp@fgv.br

*Translated by Gabriel Pomerancblum

Roberto Stuckert Filho/PR

Specialists will convene at the School of Economics of the Getúlio Vargas Foundation to address the role of Brazil in the region.
