São Paulo – Brazilian machinery exports were down 11.6% year-to-date through September this year from the same period last year, according to figures released by the Brazilian Machinery and Equipment Industry Association (Abimaq) this Wednesday (30th). Export revenues stood at US$ 8.9 billion year-to-date through September this year.<\/p>\n
Exports were also down in September alone. Sales declined 19.4% in September from August, and 20.2% September-on-September. According to Abimaq, exports from all industries declined last month: parts for the capital goods industry, logistics and civil construction machinery, infrastructure and heavy industry, consumer goods manufacturing machinery, agricultural machinery, processing industry machinery, and machinery for oil and renewable energy. <\/p>\n

The Brazilian machinery industry posted an 8% increase in gross revenues September-on-September, to R$ 7.09 billion (US$ 3.24 billion). Year-to-date, gross revenues stood at R$ 59.3 billion (US$ 27.1 billion), down 5.3% from 2012.<\/p>\n
