São Paulo – Brazilians got 625,276 tickets to the 2014 World Cup, to be promoted in the country, equivalent to 71.5% of the total number of tickets sold by the International Football Federation (FIFA). The institution disclosed on Tuesday (5) the total number of tickets sold in the first phase of sales and the countries that received most tickets for the matches.<\/p>\n
According to the FIFA, after Brazil, the United States got the largest number of tickets: 66.646, followed by England (22,257), Germany (18,019), Australia (15,401), Canada (13,507), France (11,628), Colombia (11,326), Switzerland (8,802), Japan (5,021) and Argentina (4,493). In total, fans from 188 countries were selected in this phase.<\/p>\n
A new ordering phase for tickets will be opened on November 11th, and will end on the 28th of this month. At the event, 228,959 tickets will be put on sale, but they will not include the following matches: the opening match, in São Paulo; the closing match, in Rio de Janeiro; group matches in Brasília, round of 16 matches in Belo Horizonte; and the semi-finals in São Paulo and Belo Horizonte. In December, the second phase of ticket sales will be opened.<\/p>\n
According to FIFA, 6.2 million orders were placed for tickets for the Cup and up to the moment, 889,305 have been sold. In the first phase of ticket sales for the 2010 World Cup, in South Africa, 1.8 million orders for tickets were placed and 381,559 were sold. For the 2006 World Cup, in Germany, eight million orders for tickets were placed and 652,521 were sold.<\/p>\n
