São Paulo – From November 13th to 17th, the 32nd National Arabian Horse Exhibition will take place. It is the largest and foremost event organized by the Brazilian Association of Arabian Horse Breeders (ABCCA). The event is open to the public, and presents the highlight animals of the year of 2013, which will compete for the main titles for the breed in Brazil. <\/p>\n
The exhibition will feature approximately 800 animals, which will compete in contests such as Halter, in which the animals closest to the breed’s standard win. In this category, aspects such as the horse’s conformation (shape of head, genetics, symmetry and musculature), structure and movement are evaluated.<\/p>\n
There will also be performance tests in which the rider’s command of the animal are assessed; cross-country, classical horse riding and rural horse riding, in which the animals must pass through obstacles in the shortest possible time, and slalom and show jumping.<\/p>\n
The horse show will also feature the final leg of Circuito Ancaf 3-Barrel Race, in which the animal’s speed and dexterity come into play. In this contest, the National Association of the Functional Arabian Horse (Ancaf) will award R$ 30,000 in cash and a brand new car to the owner of the horse with the best time.<\/p>\n
The competitions will be evaluated by judges from Brazil, Denmark, Saudi Arabia, England and the United States. All exhibitors at the show are Brazilian, but the event will receive visitors from Italy, the United States, Chile and Ecuador.<\/p>\n
The animals start competing even before the show opens. On the 10th, Derby Paulista, the leading horse speed contest in the state of São Paulo, will take place at Jockey Clube de São Paulo.<\/p>\n
The show in Indaiatuba will also feature activities for women and children. The Halter with Lipstick contest, for women and girls above 12, will assess the rider’s command of the animal and the halter, as well as her garments.<\/p>\n
In the Lead-Line competition, for children aged 02 to 09, the animal is ridden by a child and pulled by an adult, and the child’s demeanor on the horse is assessed. The show will also include games and paintings. <\/p>\n
