The announcement was made on Thursday (02) by the Mauritania National Industry and Mining Company (SNIM), according to information from the African news agency Panapress.<\/p>\n<p>The SNIM has established a goal of increasing the country&rsquo;s iron ore production to 40 million tons by 2025, reaching the fifth position among the world&rsquo;s greatest producers of the commodity. <\/p>\n<p>Last October, the company announced the discovery of a new deposit in the southern region of the country, with 850 million tons of iron ore.
