São Paulo – Etihad Airways announced this Tuesday (07) a change in one of the company’s head officers in Brazil. Christophe Didier shall be the new director general for the country in the place of Juan Torres, who’s position was general manager for South America and Brazil. <\/p>\n
Didier shall start in his new position in São Paulo next Monday (13). In the press release issued by the company, Etihad’s commercial director, Peter Baumgartner, states that Didier has the “right credentials to accelerate the growth of our business in Brazil,” and that he shall lead the “next development phase in the growing and dynamic Brazilian market.” In the announcement, Baumgartner also says that the company’s São Paulo flights have great demand both for business and leisure tourism. <\/p>\n
Etihad Airways began it’s Abu Dhabi \/ São Paulo flight in June last year, initially with three weekly flights. During the second semester, they increased the frequency to daily flights. São Paulo is the airline’s first destination in South America. <\/p>\n
In the announcement published on the company’s website, the company states that Juan Torres shall move to the Philippines. As general manager for South America, he established the airline’s operations in Brazil. Now, Torres shall be Etihad’s general manager in the Asian country, where he already represented the company between 2006 and 2010.<\/p>\n
