São Paulo – This Thursday (13th), Embraer has announced the sale of 50 second-generation aircraft to India’s Air Costa carrier. The deal, worth US$ 2.94 billion at list prices, has been announced in Singapore, where the Brazilian aircraft manufacturer is participating in the Singapore Air Show.<\/p>\n
The 50 jets sold include 25 E 190-E2 units and 25 E 195-E2 units. The deal includes an option for the purchase of an additional 25 units of each model; if confirmed, the purchase will drive the deal’s value up to US$ 5.88 billion.<\/p>\n
According to Embraer, the first E 190-E2 will be delivered to Air Costa in 2018. The model will have a two-class configuration, with capacity for 98 passengers. Its range is 5,186 km. The E 195-E2 can carry up to 118 passengers, with a range of 3,704 km. The first unit of the latter model will be delivered to Air Costa in 2019.<\/p>\n
The aircraft models are part of Embraer’s second generation of business jets, which are more fuel-efficient and provide passengers with greater comfort, according to the company. In addition to the two models sold to Air Costa, Embraer has launched the E 175-E2, for 88 passengers.<\/p>\n
Presently, Air Costa operates four Embraer aircraft: two E170 and two E190, both of which are part of the first generation. As of 1:19 pm this Thursday, Embraer stock listed at the São Paulo Stock Exchange (Bovespa) was selling for R$ 19.84, up 0.97%.<\/p>\n
