In a press release, Airbus has stated that the cancellation has followed “ongoing discussions with the airline in light of their fleet requirement review, as demonstrated by their order of 50 additional A380s at the last Dubai Airshow and their continuous interest in the programme.”

In 2007, Emirates had placed an order for 50 A350-900 units and 20 A350-1000 units. The first unit was to be delivered in 2019. The European aircraft maker’s new jet line is touted to offer increased fuel-efficiency and passenger comfort than existing units. The A350-900 model aircraft can carry 315 passengers and the A350-1000’s capacity is 369 passengers, in a three-class configuration.

Both aircraft are smaller than the A380, the world’s largest passenger aircraft, of which Emirates is the leading operator. The Dubai-based airline owns over 40 units of the model, and should own 140 by the beginning of the next decade. The aircraft has 500-plus passenger capacity.

In the press release, Airbus has stated that it remains “very confident” in its new A350 jet program, and that six months prior to being launched, the model has a backlog of 742 firm orders.

*Translated by Gabriel Pomerancblum

The Dubai-based airline has cancelled the purchase of 70 units of the A350 model aircraft, which should start flying toward the end of this year.

[91

0":"post-48162","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","6":"category-economy
The Dubai-based airline has cancelled the purchase of 70 units of the A350 model aircraft, which should start flying toward the end of this year.
["GET
