According to the Monthly Survey of Industry &#8211; Physical Production (PIM-PF, in the Portuguese acronym), released this Thursday (2nd) by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE), extraction industry had a 2.4% growth in the period.<\/p>\n<p> Other sectors which also drove the hike in industry output were machinery and equipment (3.9%), oil coke, oil products and biofuels (1.5%) food products (1.1%). Overall, 14 out of 24 industrial sectors surveyed by the IBGE had an increase in August from July.
