According to partial figures from the Brazilian Central Bank, up until last Friday (17th), outflows were higher than inflows by US$ 665 million.<\/p>\n<p>The deficit was a result of financial operations (investment in bonds, profit and dividend remittances to foreign countries and foreign direct investment, among other operations), with a US$ 2,697 billion deficit.<\/p>\n<p>Export- and import-related foreign exchange operations showed a US$ 2.032 billion surplus.<\/p>\n<p>Year-to-date, foreign exchange flows are running a US$ 678 million surplus.
