São Paulo – The Brazilian subsidiary of US-based OnixOil wants to operate in the oil sector of Middle East and North Africa countries. In Brazil, the company already provides services to companies such as Petrobras e Braskem. <\/p>\n
Tiago Faierstein, the company’s comercial diretor, explains that in the domestic market OnixOil operates in two main areas: oil tank cleaning and industrial inspection with the use of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs).<\/p>\n
“We perform the chemical cleaning of oil tanks without the need for confinement (worker going into the tank). We use a fully biodegradable product. The cleaning doesn’t involve risk for humans and it’s environment-friendly”, explains the executive. <\/p>\n
Whereas the UAVs are used for the monitoring of high-altitude and inaccessible areas, including flare towers, the ones that emit flames in its top and burn part of the gas production that couldn’t be used. <\/p>\n
According to Faierstein, to do a flare tower inspection without the use of UAVs it’s necessary a production stop and a one-week period of waiting for cooling. With the UAVs, the inspection can be done with the tower working normally. <\/p>\n
In the United States, OnixOil also makes equipment for oil well drilling, such as bits and valves, among others, but don’t offer the services available in Brazil and the ones that the company wants to offer in the Arab countries. <\/p>\n
According to Faierstein, in the Arab countries there is no other company that provides the same kind of service offered by OnixOil and that’s the main reason for wanting to be in those markets offering this portfolio. “It went great in Brazil and, for sure, it will work great in the Middle East oil market”, the executive points out.<\/p>\n
The OnixOil also says that, initially, the equipment used in the Arab countries would be made in Brazil but, in the future, the production could be local. “There’s the possibility of building a plant there. It will depend on the market’s demand”.<\/p>\n
To look for clients in the Arab countries, OnixOil became a member of the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce<\/strong> . According to Faierstein, the first talks with the organization pointed to Oman, Saudi Arabia and Egypt as potential markets for the company. <\/p>\n OnixOil was founded 15 years ago in the United States with a focus in the Brazilian market, which accounts for 80% of its total business. However, it was only in September of this year that the Brazilian subsidiary was opened. <\/p>\n With its main office as base, the company also operates in France, Spain, Mexico and Panama.
