A study released this Friday (30) by the World Bank shows that if the country carries out works to enhance productivity at maritime terminals, revenues could increase by as much as US$ 300 million. <\/p>\n<p>According to information from news agency <em>Tunis Afrique Presse (TAP)<\/em>, the study was presented at a hearing chaired by Tunisia&rsquo;s minister of Transport, Chiheb Ben Ahmed.<\/p>\n<p>The World Bank recommends that projects be implemented to modernize working conditions and infrastructure. The advice applies to all ports, but as a case in point it focuses on the North African country&rsquo;s foremost facility, the Port of Rades. <\/p>\n<p>On another note, the study concedes that the positive results of changes effected in Rades are beginning to show, including the streamlining of working schedules and implementation of an anti-corruption plan. <\/p>\n<p>In November last year, the port announced an increase in productivity, to 20-24 containers handled per hour. In 2011, the rate was 3-4.
