The index had been up 0.78% in December 2014 and 0.55% in January 2014.<\/p>\n<p>The IPCA figures have been released by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) this Friday (6th). In the 12-month period leading up to January, the index was up 7.14%, the highest since September 2011, when the annualized inflation rate had climbed by 7.31%.
