Over 3 million 60-kilogram bags were shipped abroad, up 9.3% year-on-year in March. According to information released this Wednesday (8th) by the Brazilian Coffee Exporters Council (Cecaf&eacute;), the volume shipped was an all-time high for the month. <\/p>\n<p>In all of the first quarter, exports fetched US$ 1.695 billion, up 36.4% from Q1 2014. Over 8.8 million bags were exported, up 4.1% from March of last year. <\/p>\n<p>The price of coffee went up by 13.4% year-on-year in March. Average Q1 price was up 31% from Q1 2014. <\/p>\n<p><strong>Markets <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Arab countries imported US$ 53.4 million worth of coffee from Brazil in Q1, up 3.3% from Q1 2014. The volume shipped to the region, however, was down 16% to 355,000 bags. <\/p>\n<p>The leading destination was Europe, followed by North America, Asia and South America.
