In a balance sheet released this Monday (11th) night and in a teleconference Tuesday (12th) morning, the company attributes the performance to the Brazilian and international economic environment and the implementation of new software that should generate profits this year still, but affected the performance of the company between January and March. <\/p>\n<p>Among the challenges listed in the teleconference headed by the company&rsquo;s CEO, Oliver Colas, are the high-priced dollar, the low price of commodities and the high interest rates. The company said this Monday that the price decline of commodities and the uncertainties in the Brazilian economic and fiscal scenarios reduced the demand for agricultural storage. Besides, Colas noted that 2015 will be a year of &ldquo;adjustments&rdquo;.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;It&rsquo;s a year of adjustments not only for the Brazilian economy, but also for us, from the agricultural sector. Several phenomena had an effect at the same time. The situation with the commodities, also, and the dollar issue is not only about dollar versus real, but against several currencies globally. Countries that were traditionally importers of equipment from Kepler, some are oil producers and had their decline degraded by the drop of oil prices and a slightly complicated scenario. We can label [this moment] as transition adjustment from a very good period to a period a bit more selective&rdquo;, said the CEO this Tuesday. <\/p>\n<p>The company&rsquo;s revenues in Q1 2015 stood at R$ 107.9 million (US$ 35.5 million), a figure 37.7% lower than the one recorded in the same period in 2014. The company posted, between January and March, losses of R$ 14.3 million (US$ 4.7 million). One year ago, profit stood at R$ 23.8 million (US$ 7.8 million). The net income with exports stood at R$ 7.9 million (US$ 2.5 million), or 60.9% less than the earnings of R$ 20.2 million (US$ 6.6 million) from the same period of last year. In the press release, the company said that it&rsquo;s &ldquo;still focused&rdquo; in its strategy of expanding in the African continent and strengthening its presence in Latin America and East Europe. <\/p>\n<p>On the trading floor of the S&atilde;o Paulo Stock Exchange this Tuesday (12th), the company&rsquo;s common stock (voting shares) were trading down 4.61%.
