Two of them, from Sudan and the United Arab Emirates, will come to engage in matchmaking. Egypt will have an exhibitor among the other 1,250 international and domestic ones set to participate in the fair. The Hospitalar fair and forum will be held from Tuesday (19th) to Friday (22th) in the city of São Paulo.

Founder and president of the Hospitalar forum and fair, Waleska Santos said to ANBA, via email, that expectations for the fair this year are “the best possible”. “Despite the downturn of the Brazilian economy in general, the health sector hasn’t been hit yet. The hospitals, especially the private and philanthropic ones, continue to invest in more beds to attend to the restrained demand of healthcare plans users”, said the executive.

According to Santos, the fair maintains since its first edition an “international nature”, a feature that will be kept this year. Besides the Egyptian company among the exhibitors, other countries with stands are Turkey, Germany, Argentina, Austria, Canada, South Korea, United States, France, Hong Kong, Israel, Poland, United Kingdom, Czech Republic, Switzerland, Taiwan, Uruguay, Chile, Colombia, Spain, India, Ireland, Japan, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Pakistan, Peru, Thailand and Portugal. According to Santos, the 533 foreign companies represent 43% of the total exhibitors.

Matchmaking

Just as in previous editions, this year will feature a matchmaking event organized by the Association of the Industry of Medical, Dental, Hospital and Laboratory Equipment (Abimo) and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil). The two organizations have a joint project called Brazilian Health Devices, which promotes Brazilian products of the sector abroad.

The event will be held in the mornings from May 19th to 21th. The matchmaking will involve 55 Brazilian companies and 16 buyers from 15 countries. Besides potential importers from Sudan and the United Arab Emirates, which are Arab nations, clients will come from Colombia, Costa Rica, Denmark, Ecuador, Israel, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, Poland, Peru, Portugal, Sri Lanka and Uruguay.

“The expectation for this year is to close deals worth US$ 20 million in the fair and in the 12 following months. The previous edition reached the amount of US$ 13 million in the same period”, said Santos. According to data from Abimo, last year Brazilian exports of medical and dental products amounted to US$ 779.6 million, an increase of 5.7% over 2013.

Santos stated that the sector is now following a trend of investments in the areas of diagnostic by image, and oncological and rehabilitation treatments. She said this trend should be the same at Hospitalar.

Service
Hospitalar Fair and Forum
From May 19th to 22th., from noon to 9 PM
Expo Center Norte, Rua José Bernardo Pinto, 333, Vila Guilherme, São Paulo – SP
Further information: http://www.hospitalar.com/index.php

*Translated by Sérgio Kakitani

Press Release

A company from Egypt will have a stand in the exhibition, which will also promote matchmaking with companies from UAE and Sudan, among other countries.

[107

0":"post-51006","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-business-opportunities
A company from Egypt will have a stand in the exhibition, which will also promote matchmaking with companies from UAE and Sudan, among other countries.
["GET
