This Thursday (12th), the minister of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply, K&aacute;tia Abreu, met with executives of the company in Abu Dhabi. She presented investment opportunities and Brazil&rsquo;s food production projects in the states of Maranh&atilde;o, Tocantins, Piau&iacute; and Bahia (a region known by the acronym Matopiba) and in Amaz&ocirc;nia Legal (Legal Amazon), where there&rsquo;s potential for freshwater fish farming.<\/p>\n<p>According to information from the Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture, Aldahra&rsquo;s vice president, Khadim Al Darei, said that he will send a delegation to Brazil to assess which projects the company could make investments in. The company is the UAE&#8217;s leading rice importer.<\/p>\n<p>Aldahra imports and later exports food products in the Middle East. In addition to re-exporting, it produces food and trades in animal feed. In her turn, the minister said she will arrange meetings between the group&rsquo;s executives and Brazilian agriculture business owners.<\/p>\n<p>K&aacute;tia Abreu has been in the Middle East since the beginning of this week. She attended the South American-Arab Countries Business Forum held last Sunday (8th) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. On Wednesday (11th), she visited the Brazilian poultry processing company BRF&rsquo;s Abu Dhabi plant, and will head to China and India on the next few days.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Besides discussing the investment potential of Brazilian Northeast states, the minister made a point to send Aldahra a report with information on the South, a major rice producing region.
