Participants will include tourism promotion bodies from Abu Dhabi and Egypt, the airlines Emirates and Royal Air Maroc, and travel agencies from Egypt and Dubai.

In an interview by email, expo director Lawrence Reinisch ponders, however, that as the dollar gains on Brazil’s real, more foreigners become interested in travelling to Brazilian destinations. “More and more Arab tourists will benefit from the exchange rate to see the beauties of Brazil and Latin America,” he said.

According to the executive, before the dollar hike, “Brazil had grown into an expensive destination.” “In the current scenario, it’s important to note that exchange rate devaluation will greatly facilitate inbound tourism,” Reinisch argued. “At this time we are hoping to see a growing numbers of tourists hailing from the Arab countries,” he added.

The event’s organizers report that this year’s edition 30% more buyers and visitors have registered compared with 2015. They are expecting deals stemming from the exhibition to exceed last year’s USD 363 million.

Reinisch revealed that business matchmaking events involving domestic and international companies will be a highlight. The expo will feature guests invited by the organizers and organizations including the Brazilian Tourism Institute (Embratur) and the Brazilian Tour Operators Association (Braztoa). Over 7,000 visitors are expected.

World Travel Market Latin America
March 29th to 31st, 2016
Venue: Expo Center Norte, José Bernardo Pinto Street, 333, Vila Guilherme, São Paulo, SP
Register free of charge at www.wtmlatinamerica.com by March 28th.
