The week had only four business days due to the Good Friday holiday in Brazil.<\/p>\n<p>External sales totaled USD 892.9 million on average per business day, a 26.1% increase over the other weeks in March. Shipments of basic goods, semi-finished and finished products were up, led by synthetic rubber, raw sugar, wood pulp, iron and steel semi-finished products, hides, copper cathodes, crude soybean oil, aircraft, auto, cargo vehicles, auto parts, engines, orange juice, soy beans, iron ore, crude oil, poultry, soy bran and coffee. <\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, imports increased 11.4% and totaled USD 573.7 million on average per business day. Sales were up with fuels and lubricants, mechanical equipment, auto and auto parts, pharmaceuticals, organic and chemical fertilizers, and optical and precision instruments.<\/p>\n<p>In the month, exports totaled USD 13.485 billion, and imports USD 9.502 billion, generating a surplus of USD 3.982 billion.
