In the 12 months ended April, the index climbed 8.56%.<\/p>\n<p>The IC-Br tracks the variation in prices of Brazilian commodities sold abroad. The BC monitors the prices of goods that are relevant to consumer price dynamics within Brazil. <\/p>\n<p>Last month, the prices of agricultural commodities (beef, cotton, soya oil, wheat, sugar, maize, coffee, rice and pork) slid 3.88%. Energy commodities (oil, natural gas and coal) gained 1.36%.
