The information was published this Wednesday (25) by the <em>Emirates News Agency (WAM)<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>The busiest routes were those from Abu Dhabi to London, England, to Doha, Qatar, Bangkok, Thailand, Mumbai, India, and Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Also a highlight was the increase of 25.6% in the number of passengers in the flights to and from the United Kingdom and of 20.6% in the trips to and from Australia.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Abu Dhabi is growing, both as a global tourism destination and strategic transit hub and this is clear from the fact that we are still seeing a year on year increase in traveller numbers at AUH&rdquo;, stated Mohammed Al Katheeri, Acting Chief Operations Officer at Abu Dhabi Airports, according to <em>WAM<\/em>. He also pointed out the increase in traffic in the flights to Germany and Italy. <\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;We are continuing to invest in the infrastructure and technology necessary to keep pace with this growth&rdquo;, added the executive.
