The company did not inform the date or amount of the previous record.<\/p>\n<p>It released the news this Friday. At this new rate, pre-salt oil accounts for roughly 40% of total oil production in Brazil, which is an estimated 2.9 million bpd. <\/p>\n<p>The result comes less than ten years since the reserves were discovered, in 2006, and less than two years after the 500,000 barrels-a-day mark was reached, in July 2014. &ldquo;This proves not only the pre-salt&rsquo;s technical and economic viability, but its high productivity as well.
