Comprising eight separate indicators that gauge expectations over economic activity in Brazil, the index increased for the third month straight and \u201cpoints to a bottoming-out of the downward trend in activity levels\u201d in Brazil, said the economist Paulo Picchetti.<\/p>\n<p>The FGV researcher added that \u201cpolitical conditions remain key in assessing whether the Iace\u2019s recent trend indeed hints a reversal of the economic cycle over the medium term.\u201d The Iace was up 0.9% in April and 1% in March.
