It’s a larger model than the one currently being used and, according to the airline, it will bring seat capacity up in Brazil and Latin America.

The new aircraft can carry 358 passengers, with 42 in business and 316 in economy class. It means 99 more seats available in economy class in comparison to the model currently being used, the Boeing 777-200 LR. This model carries 258 passengers, with 217 in economy and 42 in the business class. Seat capacity in the business class remains unchanged.

The new plane is longer and wider, but seat pitch remains the same. Until December, the 777-200LR will continue flying the route. Qatar flies to South America since 2010, always to the cities of São Paulo and Buenos Aires.

Other projects

In June, the cargo division of the company from Qatar announced that it will expand its operations in South America starting on March 2017, when new cargo-only planes will be introduced to the company’s fleet.

At the time, the company said that South America is one of the regions whose full potential Qatar hasn’t yet explored. Currently, cargo transportation is done via the lower decks of commercial flights.

*Translated by Sérgio Kakitani

Press Release

The Arab airline will replace its current aircraft with a larger model to add 99 seats in economy class starting December.

[101

0":"post-54982","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-tourism
The Arab airline will replace its current aircraft with a larger model to add 99 seats in economy class starting December.
["GET
