São Paulo – The Brazilian president Michel Temer said this Monday (19) in New York City that the National Congress is reviewing a new migrations law and that welcoming refugees is a “shared” responsibility of all countries. <\/p>\n
“Our goal is to guarantee rights, to facilitate inclusion, and to not criminalize migration. Our law will include provisions on the humanitarian visa – which has been used to the benefit of almost 85,000 Haitian citizens after the 2010 earthquake, and of 2,300 people fleeing the Syrian conflict,” Agência Brasil <\/em>quoted Temer as saying at the plenary of the United Nations General Assembly’s High-Level Plenary Meeting on Addressing Large Movements of Refugees and Migrants.<\/p>\n Tuesday (20) will see him deliver the keynote address of the 71st UN General Assembly.
